ARTS HOTEL HILTON

Grand Opening

in Porto on April 3rd, 2023

PROJECT

The historic centre of Porto has a brand-new hotel: Arts Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. This opening is the result of a €15.4 million investment by the Mercan Properties Group, which stems from the rehabilitation of a vacant and emblematic building on Av. Rodrigues de Freitas.

With 2,300 sqm, Arts Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton offers 53 rooms of high comfort and elegance, divided by different typologies (including a room fully adapted for guests with reduced mobility), ideal to enjoy the historical center of Porto in serenity. In addition to all its own facilities, the hotel also has a Mediterranean-influenced restaurant, bar, and an interior patio, surrounded by a lush garden and esplanade.

Located in the heart of Porto’s historical area, Arts Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is the result of an urban rehabilitation of a historical building from the 18th century, in an intervention that generated 60 jobs during construction and that now creates 33 new jobs for the daily hotel operation, which will be in charge of AHM Ace Hospitality Management.

Thanks to its privileged location and being just a five-minute walk away from the main cultural venues of the Invicta City, such as the Coliseu do Porto and the Teatro Nacional São João, the Arts Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is the ideal retreat for those looking to enjoy a quiet season while keeping access to all the city amenities and the rich cultural offer that Porto has to offer.

For Jordi Vilanova, President of Mercan Properties, the new hotel “is a project that makes Mercan Properties very proud, not only because it opens under Hilton’s Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand, but also because it reflects the potential of combining foreign investment with irreverent projects with an investment that creates a positive impact on the country, an example of restoring vacant buildings for the benefit of the cities. Besides elevating the architectural beauty of this building and offering it for the enjoyment of all the people of Porto and visitors to the city, this intervention is only possible thanks to the Residence Permit regime for investment activities, recognizing that it will contribute very positively to the creation of wealth and new jobs”.

HALLWAY

The large geometrical mirrored doors that divide
the lobby from the hallway, alongside the blue
traditional azulejo tiles that cover the walls halfway
contribute to bringing a delightful ambiance to the
space. The design choices count with a black and
white pattern carpet, resembling the geometric
Portuguese tiling, bringing out a special touch of
singularity and snugness.

And since tradition is an important part of what we
do, the hallway walls are also adorned with charming
artworks and prints of two of the city’s most well
known elements, the Luis I bridge and the Saint
John’s balloons.
